Bruce and Joy Tessen are the Associate/Children’s Pastors at Jubilee Worship Center. Both are graduates of North Central Bible College in Minneapolis. Bruce graduated with a degree in Pastoral Studies and Joy with a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. They began full time ministry in 1989 in Detroit, MI.

Their vision is for every child to have a first hand encounter with Jesus Christ and to equip them to do the work of the ministry. They are not interested in “babysitting” our children, but instead training them to impact their generation through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Bruce was born and raised in Wisconsin and was radically saved in 1980. God placed within Bruce a love for him, a passion for his presence, and an intense desire to emulate the love of Jesus to all- to be “Jesus with skin on.” Joy was born and raised in upper Michigan and has known and followed Jesus since childhood. She is a gifted teacher, full of love and compassion for all.

Bruce and Joy have three wonderful children on loan from God;
Joshua, 13, Brittney, 10, and Lindsey, 7.

Other than salvation, what's one of the greatest pieces of advice you could give to someone? Don't die without taking someone to heaven with you.
What is your quest? To be more like Jesus everyday
What is the air speed velocity of a swallow? What do you mean? An African or European swallow?
What would you hate to be trapped in a room with? myself.-?
What are your thoughts when you first wake up? Lord, use me today and help me be a blessing to those I come in contact with. "Jesus with skin on"
If you were a crayon, what color would you be and why? Green. Because it represents growth and I always want to keep growing in God.(Growing more hair would be nice too.)
If you were a car, what would you be and why? A Porsche. Because they're fast and sharp looking.
When was the last time you were on a plane and where were you traveling from/to? About two years ago to Mazatlan, Mexico.

Seasonand why? Summer (warm weather), because I like to be outside as much as possible.
Chuck Norris joke? Chuck Norris is so fast, he can run around the world and punch himself in the back of the head.
Smell? Peppermint oil
Thing to get at Caribou? "Large light-roast with room for cream."Daybreak or Costa Rican
Food and why? Roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy. It tastes so good, especially the way Joy makes it.
Game? Monopoly
